MARY POPPINS
(musical)
The magic character of Mary Poppins, the unforgettable nanny of children’s literature, was created by the Australian-born British journalist, actress and dancer Pamela Lyndon Travers.
She was writing it for years; forming episodes into a novel and even into a sequence. She was also working on it at the age of 90.
In 1964 a film adaptation and based on it a stage musical was made in 2004.
The music was written by Richard M. Sherman and George Stiles.
The secret of the musical’s success is the inimitable charm which alloys our ordinary working days with the magic of fairy tales.
When you come to Budapest, do not miss to see it in Madách Theatre.
